Ok my families old computer runs on a GeForce2 MX/MX 400 and pretty much exists for the perpose of playing Everquest. Well those bastards at Sony now require DirectX9c Apr2006 addition. So now because appentrly that version of Directx is retarted the Game thinks the it doesn't have a 3d Device. The only things I could think of was to update the drivers, reinstall directx and reseat the card and none of that work.
So a side from getting a new card anyone have any ideas.
If it does indeed require DirectX9 now, that card isn't going to work. I'm pretty sure the GeForce2's stopped at DX8 (maybe even DX7). Low-end video cards with DX9 support can be found pretty cheap these days.

Hmm... you did reinstall everything again right? Always got to do that with a new video card. Drivers, directx, everything.
I'm not sure what else it could be... you are running DX9c right?
Yes I reinstalled everything but it says it already have DirectX9. So unless I go in and delete all the old drivers then install them.
And yes its 9c
Hmm... you're not doing something weird like leaving any integrated video or something enabled?
Ah wouldn't know. Not sure what I could have left enabled and I'm not sure what Intergated video is.
Video built in to the motherboard, basically. Most of the time with no 3D. Why it would be saying that with a card that obviously does have 3D I don't know. If all else fails, format and start over.
Oh well I'm back in florida so he'll have to figure it out for himself then. He's still got that nice oone I built for him he just can't play two accounts at once anymore.
