NintendoFront is a blogging project that we aim to set our foot in the gaming media door. Gaming media is a billion dollar a year industry, and it is polluted by sick and unethical people. We aim to end this reign by IGN, cnet's gamespot, and Ziff Davis' 1up. These are all sick companies that deserve to be replaced by an organization (or organizations) that care less about extorting people for money and more about fostering ideas and community.

If a community is built right, revenue will of course be a byproduct of a successful company. We must aim to have uncompromised ethics and a firm goal in sight.

By the end of this year, I aim to have our transition into a media company realized and our profits enough to sustain other, expensive projects.

NintendoFront will begin in a week or two. I will begin working on a codebase for all of this that will also be shared with the project Ian and I are working on.
Yes, well I have joined... But that's unimportant now.

I'd be happy to help with making the mascots. Do you mind if I only make one or two? I'd make more, but with school and all that... But I can definetly help.
As you know, I'm artistically challeneged.

I read the sample article, and somehow I don't think it's quite extreme enough. Maybe it's not entirely clear where you're going with this yet, though.
I'm going to make a total estimate here. Based on the fact that blogs are *very* popular, I'd say that we'll get twice as much income as we do with DSmeet. This will fund our IGN-empire crushing future plans.

Say $400 - $500 a month from this, plus the $300 a month from DSmeet... That's possibly $800 if it goes well.

I'm considering an investment in SonyFront.com and MicrosoftFront.com. If we get those, I could easily see the profit quadrupling to $1500 - $2000 a month.

Think about it: it would be the equivalent of Joystiq's smaller divisions. And you know they make a lot of income.

We can then purchase a server, because at that point we'll probably need it.
What about AppleFront (Or AppleField)?

Apple has been gaining alot of popularity lately.

And what would be the CenterPeice Name for all this (Like IGN, JoyStiq)

Merkey?
Genostar?
Digital Substance?
I would agree with merkey being the centerpiece of everything.

And yes, SonyFront.com, MicrosoftFront.com, AppleFront.com all good ideas. However we'd definately need to find people to write articles for all of these. I'm sure there are people here at merkey and talented "new recruits" over at DSmeet that could help with this. I think the main priorty would be nintendofront though because of it's direct relationship with the DSmeet crowd. The amount of success that this will achieve I believe will be directly correlated with the amount of humor and "obvliousness to reality" that these blogs have.

One thing to note. After these get popular I would DEFINATELY suggest taking off Adsense ads and selling individual text ads at a monthly or CPM rate. Adsense ads are great and all, but what kind of ads would a nintendo site get? At most 5-7 cents a click. Not the best potential.

I would actually suggest doing this type of thing on DSmeet. Brandon I'd really like to discuss this with you, you know how to find me.

Edit: PR just updated, it has DSmeet.com at 2. I don't know if this is final but if it is it's dissapointing. But I can see where it's coming from since it doesn't have a lot of sites ACTUALLY linking to it. In lighter news DS-play is at PR of 0. My OLD website that expired about 5 months ago http://www.amizing.com has a PR of 2.

One more edit: Do you have traffic stats I could see?
yo. where'd my post go.
