I have already talked with Dallas a bit about it. I'm thinking we could have a "purpose" for Merkey. It's a bit strange, and I won't go into all of the details.

Ever since we first began, we never really had a "purpose" for this website. But we were a strange bunch, and as such, created a sort of mythos surrounding our odd little community. I say we make that our purpose.

Now what does this mean, you ask?

Have you ever heard of Orion's Arm? We may attempt a collaborative world building project of our own. Only instead of sci-fi, we'll take a more involving approach. Think "alternate reality", as in the alternate reality games used in viral marketing--we'll do that, only it will be the basis of our story. We could throw in a little bit of Nomic's ideology into the mix to aid in maintaining the thing.

I was thinking that since it could be alternate reality, we could create a conspiracy world. Kenneth, do you remember the original "NRebellion"? Yeah, that. We can do something much like that, but of course more serious. More realistic.

Our story will be obviously fiction, but I want it to have an air of esoteric reality to it.

I never had my own purpose for merkey.net, and still don't. So if you can make this work, I'm all for it.

Building our own universe, that shouldn't be to hard. Its not much diffrent then what I've been trying to do with MoD Hunters. When ever I actually work on that, that is.

Actually, our forums are (I believe) waht Merkey V is going to use... though I can't remember where I read that - DSM or here, or in some chat log somewhere.

Oh well I can wait. Anyway, Its not like theres much traffic here right now, aside from the people who read MoD Hunters, but 90% of them wont touch the rest of the board.
To be honest I'm just glad you all finally had a project that worked.
