But did Canon listen? Nope. Here's my proof: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...elid=15207

So I did it. I present the Nikon D40.

Being on sale helped too.
Double post here I go.

Here's my example of the advantages of RAW, small sensor or not.

It's not so noticeable in this image, but there's some purple fringing going on with the white letters.

Much more noticeable here. Also noticeable is that Adobe Camera RAW has completely removed it in the image on the right.

And here's the final result. Looks much better doesn't it?
I can't really tell the diffrence what am I supose to be lookign for?
Okay, so I over-stated a bit. It's really quite good at controlling purple fringing. And it's next to impossible to see on the scaled-down images. On the close crops, the one on the right shows some purple fringes on the right side of the lettering. In the crop on the left, I've removed it with ACR.
Ok now I see it. It's more bluish on my screen
I cannot ascertain the nature of the difference... :'(
So I'm a perfectionist with my photos... good grief. Anyway, it's an awesome camera, I highly recommend it.
