okay..i discovered EQ wasnt working shortly after i realized Sims 2 wasnt. & my boyfriend would not be happy if he came home from practice and his computer was dead so.. i was messing around with things and i fixed it. stupid screen resolution

Oh that computer. Ok first, open the thing up and make sure the video card is in all the way. Second reinstall the drivers if you can find the disk anywhere. Hopfully that half wit didn't lose it.
Also try going right clicking on the desktop and selecting properties. Go to the Settings tab and click on advanced. Go to the Trouble Shooting tab and make sure the Hardware Acceleration is at full.
Thats really all I know based on what you said, but Matt's better at these things then me so hopfully he'll have some better input when he see's this.
And from now on don't mess with the settings. Thats not a factory computer so you don't have a restore disk, nor do have have your own copy of windows.

Looks like a geometry error. That generally happens when the software isn't communicating with the GPU correctly. If it's doing that all the time, I'd say it's a driver problem (if it is doing it with everything and not just The Sims 2).
